Product Description

These are Crystal Red Shrimp – probably the most popular and sought after shrimp in the hobby. They have an incredibly striking red and white coloration and stand out magnificently against any backdrop or substrate. We have offered these special shrimp in the past, and we are thrilled for the opportunity to offer them to our newer customers!

These shrimp are A-S grade, meaning the intense coloration covers most or all of the body. Higher grades of Crystal Red Shrimp actually have more white coverage and less red coverage, and can be very difficult to keep as they are much more sensitive than these. A-S grade CRS are the best starting point for anyone that wants to keep Crystal Red Shrimp. We personally think the A-S grade shrimp are the most beautiful because they have equal amounts of red and white.

We also have the same type of shrimp in black and white, called a “Crystal Black Shrimp.” They will breed with these and produce either black/white or red/white offspring only – very cool!

RECOMMENDED TANK PARAMETERS:
– PH level range: 6.2 to 6.8
– Temperature range: 70 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit
– Water type: Soft
– Recommended Aquatic Arts tank mates: Other types of dwarf shrimp (such as Blue Velvet shrimp, Sakura Fire Red Cherry Shrimp, Neon Yellow Shrimp, etc.), various types of snails (such as Nerite Snails, Sulawesi Snails, etc.). They can also be kept with small to medium-sized, non-aggressive fish.
– Additional notes: A bit more difficult to care for than other dwarf shrimp types – we recommend sticking VERY closely to the recommended tank parameters. Dwarf shrimp prefer to live in tanks with live aquatic plants (such as java moss, green cabomba, etc.). This is because dwarf shrimp like the cover that plants provide, they love to graze on the plants for algae, and the plants help keep the water clean for them.

The colony of shrimp work as a very effective cleaning crew for your tanks, cleaning up algae and waste!
